Once upon a time people did not throw their possessions away just because they were old. Many kinds of possessions are valued and kept, because they are loved rather than being worth money. Sometimes things are kept by their owners when they are packed away on an old box and forgotten. Then suddenly there is a reason for remembering because the owner has discovered a renewed purpose for an old possession. This is called recycling.
