The is the hilarious, generously illustrated story of Martha and Arthur, two sides of a split personality. They started off life being well-to-do but the money ran out and they were broke. Neither of them were able to get work so they decided there was no alternative but to apply for welfare relief from Centrelink. Martha got the dole and Arthur was put onto sickness benefit because he had emotional problems. When Centrelink found out that one of their “customers” was double dipping the case ended up in court. Arthur/Martha argued that the issue was one of human rights and won. This story is an inside taken from the experiences of the two authors.
